Sustainability assessment

A number of tools for sustainability assessments have been developed in order to inform different stakeholders about environmental, social and economic impacts of different plans, projects and policies

Examples of such tools are Strategic Environmental Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment, Social Life Cycle Assessment and Input-Output Analysis. They can be combined in different ways and connected to scenarios. In this programme sustainability assessments of the scenarios were made including both quantitative and qualitative aspects. The work package worked closely with the economic modeling but also included qualitative aspects that are described in the scenarios. It included sustainability aspects that are chosen to be of significant importance for the evaluation.
