The built environment

The work package explored what the scenarios mean for the urban structure, dominant building typologies, etc. and identified key features of a high quality of indoor and close outdoor environments in line with sustainability requirements.

This was done through case studies in different local and regional contexts. The work package also explored how sustainable renovation of million homes program area can be solved in the different scenarios. A special topic focused on in this work package was how to deal with additional new construction during the scenario periods with respect to embodied environmental impact.
